What is gipfeli ?
Gipfeli, also known as the Swiss bread, are delectable pastries that resemble croissants but have a slightly distinct appearance.Composed of an egg, warm milk, cold butter, yeast, sugar, salt, and flour. It is ideal for breakfast or as a snack because of its soft, crunchy texture and somewhat sweet flavor. Gipfeli can either be eaten by themselves or, as I did, stuffed with delectable curd, jam, or even chicken salad. Therefore, why not prepare Gipfeli at home and introduce some Swiss cooking techniques into your kitchen?

How to Make Gipfeli?
Step 1: Mix the yeast and warm Milk in a Small basin. After giving it a little stir, leave it for approximately five Minutes.
Step 2: Mix the flour, Sugar, and Salt in a large Mixing basin. Combine them. Push the flour to the sides to create a small hole in the center.
Step 3: Fill the hole with the Milk and foamy yeast Mixture. Combine all ingredients until dough forms.
Step 4: Place the Dough and flour on a table. For Around ten Minutes, Mix it until it feels silky in your palm.
Step 5: Set the Dough in a basin that has been Oiled, cover it, and leave it in a Warm location for Approximately an hour, or Until it doubles in Size.
Step 6: Place the Cookie dough on a surface dusted with flour and Roll it out into a large rectangle once it has risen.
Step 7: Carefully distribute little bits of cool butter over half of the dough. Press the edges to close after folding the other half over the butter.
Step 8: Once again, roll the folded dough into a large rectangle. Fold it like a letter into thirds. Perform these folding and rolling movements twice more.
Step 9: Cover the dough with plastic wrap and Refrigerate for at least one Hour.
Step 10: Roll out the dough into a big Rectangle and cut it into triangles once it is cold.
Step 11: To create a crescent shape, roll each Triangle from the base to the tip. Line a parchment paper-lined baking sheet with them.
Step 12: Place a moist cloth over them and give them another half hour to rise. Set the oven’s temperature to 200 degrees Fahrenheit (400°F as well as). Using a pastry brush, brush the Gipfeli with the egg that has been beaten.
Step 13: Bake for 10 to 15 Minutes, or until puffy and golden brown. You can stuff your gipfeli with whatever you like; I stuff mine with strawberry preserves and yuzu Curd.
